KATU's Facebook page consistently outpaced those of three other market television stations and Oregon's largest newspaper by a sizable margin. She also nearly doubled the Facebook page's following in two years, and grew its average monthly video views from about two million to 11 million by spearheading the use of Facebook Live and a text-on-screen template. 

  • Kirsten grew @katutv's Instagram following by more than 1,200 percent, organizing a complete strategy overhaul and implementing the regular use of Stories and IGTV. @katutv consistently claimed the highest engagement rate in the market during her tenure. 

  • She also grew @KATUNews' Twitter following by 141 percent in two years, and implemented the regular use of Periscope's producer function and Twitter live to bring followers breaking news coverage from Portland and around the world. 

  • In addition to her social media growth for KATU, she also managed katu.com, which consistently grossed over 9 million monthly page views. ​
