Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a small Basque town nestled in the Pyrenees foothills of southwestern France, just before the Spanish border. It's also the starting point for many pilgrims trekking the French Way of the Camino de Santiago.

These images are from the first days of my pilgrimages, as The Way ascends through the morning fog out of the village and into the mountains.
